In addition to separate development control rules for Koliwadas, Gaavthans and Tribal Padas, Fadnavis pointed that the state would also approve property tax relief for not only residents acquiring 500 sq ft but also those acquiring 700 sq ft.
The CM further announced that separate dispensation is under consideration to provide redevelopment benefits to buildings falling under the funnel zone. He said that such buildings could be provided with additional floor space index (FSI) or transferable development rights (TDR). The CM told the state assembly that police personnel residing at BDD chawls since 30 years would be given ownership of these houses with conditions which are applicable for employees of other departments.
Replying to the discussion on issues faced by Mumbai, Fadnavis informed that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sent DP to the state for approval on August 2, 2017 and that the government has a statutory period of 30 months to approve the same. He informed that the DP is undergoing detailed scrutiny by the committee appointed for the same and the state would ensure that open spaces are not compromised.
Stating that there are three categories of residents staying at transit camps, Fadnavis said, those who have shifted there after vacation notice and who don't get a new house would be given ownership of their present house in the transit camp. The second category is of those who bought the house without the knowledge that it is illegal, would be given ownership of the house they are occupying at present. Fadnavis said that the third category is of illegal occupants and they would be evicted. However, since they fall under the category of poverty, they would be provided houses elsewhere under a suitable scheme.
