Madhusudhan Sadadekar, an NCP candidate from ward number 68, quit his party on Tuesday shortly after polling had ended. He left the party claiming that he was doing so because his party members did not support him in the elections, and because neither did he see a future in the party nor was the party interested in having one in the city.

Sadadekar was NCP’s official candidate from ward number 68.

“I have been with the party since it was formed. I have been an active member and fought elections 10 years ago, when I secured over 1,500 votes. This time, however, I realised that the party was not part of the campaign. There were people from the party who would stand next to you but were not with you,” Sadadekar said.
