As the biggest Municipal Corporation in the country with the budget of over Rs 21,000 crore goes in for polls on February 21, 2017, a lot of voters are left confused about their names in voter list, the ward that they belong to and the candidates who are contesting from their ward.

To add to it the delimitation exercise has also left a lot of voters confused. In delimitation process, BMC revised the boundaries of all electoral wards. Following this, seven wards from the island city were dropped because of fall in population and had been added in the eastern and western suburbs. However, the latest voter statistics say huge gaps in voters' demography still persist.

Q. How do I check whether I my name appears in voters list?

- Log on to 'Operation black dot - Voter list search'

All you will need to do is enter your Voter ID no or your name and the details about the local body and district and you will get access to your ward no, booth no and polling booth address.

Q. How do I find the list of candidates contesting in my ward?

Once you find your ward no from the voter list search. You can access - BMC Elections 2017 website

Under Wards - Click on BMC Wards List for BMC Elections 2017, in the table that appears below click on your ward no and you will get a list of candidates in fray, location for your poll booth, population of your ward and map of your ward. If you click on your ward name you will get to see the map of your ward.

Q. How do I find more details about the candidates?

Under the option of Mumbai Corporators on the BMC Elections website, there will be a list of current corporators. You can click on their name and conduct a background check.
