The Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing to reveal conclusive documents in a bid to counter the Congress's allegations against Veer Savarkar's clemency to the British government. The ruling party is also preparing to officially release documents to prove that the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS) had no connection with Mahatma Gandhi's assassination.

BJP leader Madhav Bhandari, retaliating to the criticism by former Congress MLC Ulhas Pawar — who said that it was the Jansangh men who killed Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay — said the Congress government was in power for decades, so why did Pawar refrain from raising the issue then. Bhandari said that Congress leaders, including their the top leadership, are frustrated since they can't find any issue against the Union government.

Bhandari also ridiculed the usual Congress claim that Veer Savarkar had approached the British government with mercy application and was released from jail after this application. He said that the BJP will soon release official documents about Veer Savarkar as well as about former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee who was admitted to a hospital during emergency. Bhandari sad that Vajpayee was in jail and later was admitted to a hospital but he was never released from the jail on health grounds, and that he never applied for his release.

Sources within the BJP said that the sate unit will be bringing out documents related to investigations into Mahatma Gandhi's assassination. BJP state unit has obtained a report of around 150 pages by investigating officer. And according to party sources, the investigation report does not ave any mention of RSS. Sources accused the Congress of making false argument that Nathuram Godse meet Veer Savarkar before assassinating Mahatma Gandhi. He said that the fact is that Godse did not meet Savarkar. BJP is going to release documents which would retaliate Congress criticism. It is likely that these documents would be released by state BJP officially either this week or the next week.
