A 23-year-old woman from Kalyan, Dravita Singh, who was majorly injured after she fell from a moving local train on Wednesday has been shifted to the general ward in Bhatia Hospital at Tardeo on Saturday. The Hospital Authorities have decided that her medical treatment would be provided free of cost.

While Dravita underwent multiple surgeries which removed parts of fingers and toes, she will be under observation for at least two weeks before she is released.  After four days of her treatment, her medical cost went up to Rs 2,72,000.

She had fallen from the local train on Wednesday when a thief hit her on the hand to steal her cell phone.

Deepak Singh, brother of Dravita, said, “We are hoping that she will recover soon. She is determined to not miss her third-year B.com exams which will is scheduled in a few months.”

“Dravita has shown great courage throughout the treatment procedure. The fee waiver may not ease her pain but as a hospital, this is the least we could do for the family,” said, Dr Rajeev Boudhankar, CEO of Bhatia Hospital.
