One of the injured victims from the Amarnath Yatra terror attack, 55-year-old Chhaya Meher, was admitted to civic-run JJ Hospital on Wednesday night.

The seven pilgrims who sustained minor injuries are residents of Dahanu. One of them is in a hospital in Jammu & Kashmir, one will undergo surgery in Mumbai, and the others are in hospitals in Dahanu and Gujarat.

Speaking about Meher's condition, her son Nilesh Meher, said, "The Dahanu hospital put a plaster on her right hand since it's fractured. There is a bullet stuck in her right arm and she might undergo an operation in JJ Hospital. To shift her from Dahanu to Mumbai, the local authorities arranged facilities through the CM's office." Meher was airlifted from J&K to Surat on Tuesday, brought to Dahanu by road and admitted to a private hospital for one day. The family paid the bill of Rs 4,000 on discharge. T P Lahane, dean of JJ Hospital, said, "We will check the patient and decide on the treatment."

Baharat Rajput, BJP leader from the area who is co-ordinating with the CM's office and pilgrim's family members, said, "All patients still have bullets in their bodies and will soon be operated. Geeta Rawal is admitted in Dahanu's Sharda Hospital, Yashwant and Yogita Dongre are admitted in a Surat-based hospital, Bhagwantidevi Mani has been shifted from Dahanu to a Silvassa-based hospital and Prakash Vajani, who has injuries on his head, is at home."
