All FYJC students will get admission: Vinod Tawde

According to the minister there are still 70,000 vacant seats in FYJC and it will be filled through online admission process as it is Bombay High Court's order.

Failing to get admission in FYJC, students and parents lined up outside deputy director of school education office in Charni Road on Thursday. However, education minister Vinod Tawde assured that all students will get admission through the online process.

According to the minister there are still 70,000 vacant seats in FYJC and it will be filled through online admission process as it is Bombay High Court's order.

During the monsoon session of the Maharashtra State Legistlative Assembly on Thursday, Tawde announced that the online admission process will be extended for seven days and no student will remain without a college.

Some parents claimed that they did not confirm their child's admission as the colleges allotted were far from their house. They also said they were unaware about the rule that once allotted, they need to confirm their seat by paying Rs50.

Reeta Shah, one of the parents who was at the deputy director office, said: "We live in Chembur and my child was allotted a seat in a Nerul-based college. Why would I send my child so far when there were so many near in our area. That is the reason we didn't confirm the seat."

Another student Pinky Pandey said: "I didn't know that we were suppose to confirm our seat by paying Rs50 in the college we are allotted a seat. Hence, I did not get admission anywhere. The official have now asked us to submit a letter on what problems we have faced."

Students and parents were asked to make two hand written applications on online admission process and were asked to submit on copy to them and to keep one for themselves.

As per the online admission process, if a student doesn't confirm the seat in the college allotted then they are out of the online procedure. In the city while some colleges are having 75 seats vacant and some more then 100.
