The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has stated that it will approach the governor with respect to confidence vote, slamming the BJP for putting up an "engineered" show. "We want to ask the governor who supported the government. Even if it was a voice vote, we should know who were the 144," said Mayank Gandhi, AAP convenor in the city.

The party censured the BJP and the speaker for allowing the confidence vote to pass with a voice vote. "It was an engineered thing. Both AIMIM and NCP seem to have supported the BJP by abstaining," said Gandhi. The party slammed BJP for taking support from the "Nationalist Corrupt Party" - a word coined by Modi during election rallies.

"Even if NCP has supported, our question is whether government will take action against NCP ministers in irrigation and other scams? It is now clear that the BJP and NCP had a tacit understanding since the days when Nitin Gadkari rejected Anjali Damania's demand that he raise corruption issue against the NCP. Then Gadkari had rejected Damania's demands saying that 'woh (NCP) hamare do kaam karte hain aur hum unke (NCP) ke do kaam karte hai' (NCP does some work for us and we do some for them). They have always had tacit understanding," added Gandhi.

"At the end of the day as a voter I want to know whether the elected representative has stood by what he had promised pre-polls," said Ruben Mascarenhas, AAP member. The party has always stated they would be fighting the corporation elections – due in two years – and will stick to its stand even if the election happens to be preponed. "If the (saffron) alliance splits in the corporation and elections are held after an year, we will most likely be fighting it as we have been preparing for it," said Gandhi.
