32-year-old murders cousin in Mazgoan

A 32-year-old man murdered his own cousin in Mazgoan on Sunday night. According to the Byculla police, the accused first got the victim drunk before the incident, took him to a secluded place and then murdered him with a stone.

A 32-year-old man murdered his own cousin in Mazgoan on Sunday night. According to the Byculla police, the accused first got the victim drunk before the incident, took him to a secluded place and then murdered him with a stone.

A senior police officer of Byculla police station said, "The incident took place at Chetna compound at 9 pm. The area is secluded and the accused took his 35-year-old cousin there. The security guard of the compound during the investigation said that when he spotted the accused along with another man, he was drunk and wasn't able to manage him. When the guard offered him help, the accused refused. After somet ime, when the guard spotted the accused running from the spot, he and a couple of others held him. They were the ones who informed us about it."

The accused has now been arrested, the police have also seized the stone with which the murder was committed. The accused will be booked under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code for murder. 

The officer further added, "The accused is a handcart puller is a resident of Mazgoan and lives here with a couple of other men while the deceased lived at Mumbai Central and worked as a plumber. The duo seem to have had a dispute for quite some time now. We are still investigating with him."
