16-year-old electrocuted in Bhiwandi

An ADR (Accidental Death) has been registered with the Ganeshpuri police station.

A 16-year-old boy got electrocuted at his home at Ganeshpuri in the Bhiwandi area on Monday. The boy has been identified as Sanket Ganpat Patil. The incident happened after the SSC results were declared and Sanket, an SSC candidate, secured 84%. Sanket was inside his room and he had just switched on the light.

An ADR (Accidental Death) has been registered with the Ganeshpuri police station.

After the results were declared on June 8, the family members of the deceased were very happy. It was in the evening hours when Sanket went inside his room to switch on the light as it was getting dark outside. As soon as he switched it on, he got electrocuted and died on the spot. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

A local, who does not wish to be named, said: "The boy was brilliant. He scored good marks and his family members were very happy. They were making plans to celebrate his success."

A police officer from Ganeshpuri police station said: "As we came to know about the incident, we investigated it and found out that the boy was electrocuted when he touched the switch board. We have registered an ADR in the case."
