Ashok Leyland's total sales up 17% in October

Hinduja Group's flagship company on Monday reported 17% increase in total sales at 9,804 units in October, compared to 8,402 units year ago.

Hinduja Group's flagship company on Monday reported 17% increase in total sales at 9,804 units in October, compared to 8,402 units year ago.
 
Sales of the company's heavy and medium commercial vehicles rose by 22% to 7,177 units in October as against 5,865 units in the year-ago period, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
 
Light commercial vehicle sales grew by 4% and stood at 2,627 units compared with 2,537 units in October 2014. 
 
So far in the current fiscal, Ashok Leyland has sold 58,514 units of heavy and medium commercial vehicles, compared to the 38,980 units sold in the April-October period last year. 
 
 
Similarly, the Light commercial vehicles sales grew 14% to 16,825 units in the current fiscal as compared to 14,741 units in April- October 2014.
 
As compared to last fiscal during the same period, the total sales increased by 40% at 75,339 in this fiscal as against to 53,721.
 
At 1211 hours the shares of the company was trading down 3%, or Rs 2.75 at Rs 90.80.
