Beats Motilal Nehru School of Sports in Nehru Cup

NEW DELHI: Amardeep Singh and Love Anmol scored five goals each in Mata Gujri Public School’s overwhelming 16-0 thrashing of Motilal Nehru School of Sports in Nehru sub-junior boys hockey tournament here on Saturday.

Singh put the Jalalabad team ahead in the very first minute of the match and then Anmol unleashed a hat-trick within the next six minutes at Shivaji Stadium.

Anmol struck in second, fifth and seventh minutes to get his hat-rick. Parvinder Singh scored four goals to contribute in his team’s victory.

In another match, Aseem Xaxa hit a brace in Government Boys Senior Secondary School’s 3-0 victory over Baroda High School.

While Xaxa scored in second and 23rd minute, Ranjit Tirkey scored in 35th minute to complete the tally for Chhatisgarh team.

In another one-sided match, Mahaveer Prashad Lakhan Lal Inter College blanked Merhuliespa High school 5-0.

While Ranjan Katal (13th and 17th) struck twice, Pankaj Singh, Rajnish Salaria annd Vishwa Singh contributed one goal each in their team’s victory.

The only draw of the day was played between Government Co Educational School of New Delhi and Sadul Sports School from Bikaner. Both teams scored four goals each.
