Spiritual high: Amar Upadhyay

I consider myself a spiritual person. I believe in God, a Supreme Power, humanity as well as karma. I believe that there is a higher power that governs everything and that whatever you do, comes back to you in some form or the other. Every religion addresses this higher power in their own way.  

I have a beautiful little temple at home, where I pray every morning. I often meditate before going to bed. But most of all, I believe in the adage that as you sow, so shall you reap. I try follow the voice of my conscience. And whenever I do, I get positive results.
I run an organisation called Have a Heart Social Foundation, through which we try to help poor kids get better education. I also have this habit of carrying packets of chips with me. Whenever I come across old people, begging on the streets, I feed them, instead of giving them money.     

I am a firm believer in Shirdi Sai Baba. He never stopped people from whatever they wanted to do. For instance, many believe that fasting is necessary to please God. But he used to tell people to eat first and then come to him. He said if one is hungry, one is only thinking of food and not God. It is this simplicity and openness appeals to me. The stories of the powers of his blessing are legendary.

I had a very powerful experience some time back. I had been going through a personal crisis. During those days, there used to be this serial on Sai Baba on TV. One particular day, my wife and I were very disturbed, wondering how to solve the problem we were going through. The very next day, as I was watching this episode, it showed a person going through the same kind of problem as I was! Not only that, the episode also provided the solution to that problem. We tried the same solution. And within the next two days, it was solved. It was an incredible experience!
