Everyone has lost or is likely to lose somebody they have loved. Yet from time immemorial the sages have held that life is eternal and now modern spirituality is backing that up with quasi-scientific evidence — such as the near-death experiences of individuals and spiritualists who indulge in Past Life Regression (PLT) and other existential therapies.

Spiritual medium Tamanna Chandok who has psychic abilities indulges in automatic writing and puts people in touch with their deceased relatives or associates. Says Tamanna, “Even when we see someone (who has passed away) in a dream, or hear a sound or perceive a smell that we associate with the person, it is a form of communication. Very often people don’t know how to interpret them and they come to me for an automatic writing session.” Tamanna’s other-worldly sessions involve a three-stage process — she first describes attributes of the deceased person through divination. Next, she relays ‘natural’ messages from the deceased person to the seeker or what the deceased  would have liked to tell the seeker had they been alive.

In the third step, she relays questions from the seeker to the deceased person in another dimension and obtains answers that pertain to specific queries. “These could be as specific as the deceased person informing the seeker of the whereabouts of certain vital documents or even questions on what course of action the seeker ought to take in a particular matter.”

Spiritualist Sindhu Prem is currently counseling a grief-stricken mother who lost her 17-year-old son recently, through spiritual means. Sindhu uses a host of therapies including PLT for the mother to come to terms with her emotions. The spiritual savant believes that there is a reason for everything that happens in our lives. “No matter how painful an episode may appear to be at the moment we’re going through it, if it pushes us towards realising our true nature as spiritual beings then it will be good for us in the long-term.” Sindhu believes in karma, reincarnation and the law of cause and effect and that the purpose of human life is to evolve.

“When we awaken to our spiritual nature, we will realise that life is not happening to us, but that it is happening for us — for our benefit in fact,” she says.

Transpersonal psychotherapist Khursheed Kanga who helps people cope with a wide range of personal issues, believes that when people die, they transform to other forms of energy. “It makes sense — when water evaporates it turns to vapour and it may be a similar analogy with human life. A dream of a deceased person could be a communication from them. We do not know scientifically where the mind goes when it is sleeping or after death and so it is likely that there so be some sort of extra-dimensional communication between these two states” she says, recommending the works of authors Brian Weiss and Esther and Jerry Hicks to learn more about communication with the deceased through spiritual means.
