Exploring the symbol

The four sides of the Swastika stand for love, life, good luck and light and will find its meaning represented in a four-part fusion music.

The concert — a combination of dance, instrumental performance and ghazals is divided into four parts. Each part will showcase one aspect of the swastika.

Abhijit Pohankar (keyboards), Pt Ajay Pohankar (vocals), Fazal Qureshi (tabla), Ratish Tagade (violin), Chintu Singh (guitar) and Bichitra Mukarji (classical ballet) will then come together to do the final part.

Ratish Tagde, the founder of Perfect Octave who has conceptualised the unique thematic musical creation, says that he wanted to take the meaning of the world’s oldest symbol to the people through music.

“The first portion of love has a dance performance by Bichitra Mukarji, the second portion of light will have Ajay Pohankar and Abhijit Pohankar doing a spiritual piece as light is about enlightenment. The third session is about life which is made up of four elements of fire, earth, water and wind,” says Tagde.

All the artistes will then come together and perform in the last session on luck. “We all have to understand the supernatural power that controls our life. So in the last session, all of us will be performing together. We will offer a prayer for the entire humanity in this one,” says Tagde.
