Designers Falguni and Shane Peacock going global

International celebs’ growing affinity towards Indian designers is quite evident as many stars are often being spotted donning their creations, not just at events but also for their videos and shoots.

One such global star to join this bandwagon is popstar Ashanti. She was seen donning Indian designer duo Falguni and Shane Peacock’s outfit at their show in New York this year. This was the second time the designer duo showed at a fashion week in New York, even as their creations are increasingly getting noticed on international celebs.

Ask the designers about working with Ashanti and they say, “Ashanti’s new album cover The Woman You Love features her in a FSP (Falguni Shane Peacock) LBD. We gave her a very edgy black one-sleeve dress with hints of leather piping and ruffled feather look. It’s slightly different from the usual dresses that we do. But since it was an album cover, we wanted it to be in sync with her music and this look was just apt. And in any case, Ashanti really pulls off the look so very well with the highly dramatic eye makeup and the sleek bun hairdo.”

It’s not the first time that the duo has got backing from an international celeb. At their fashion show in NYC, apart from Ashanti, Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams came to support them. Though Michelle wasn’t in a FSP, Ashanti made waves in the fashion circles with the multi-colored, sequin and sheer panel outfit, designed by the duo. They had earlier also worked with other pop icons like Jennifer Lopez and Fergie amongst many others.
