Designer: Mehnaz Noorani
Collection:
Spring-Summer 2012
City: Mumbai
Label: Mehnaz Styles
Mehnaz has been a fashion designer for the past 19 years and this year she will be presenting an ethnic collection at this fashion event. From lehangas and anarkalis in bright hues, most of her outfits are typified by their round, elaborate necks. Georgette is her choice of fabric and she has used brocade for the borders. She will be showcasing saris as well. “I have always felt that Indian women express themselves best in ethnic wear. The fact that saris are gaining popularity internationally comes as a further motivation. I like to dress a woman in Indian wear as it enhances her beauty the most. Indian women are fast becoming fashion conscious and my collection will help them blend tradition and fashion wonderfully,” Mehnaz says.

Designer: Pallavii Mahindraa
Collection: Arc
City: Mumbai
Label: Dori
Pallavii Mahindraa launched her first design label in 2004 and it’s been seven interesting years in the fashion industry. In 2008, this graduate in fashion apparel designing launched her design studio Dori and this is her first time at the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week. The collection is vibrant, feminine, flirtatious and eye-catching. It is inspired by today’s woman, who is powerful, who voices her opinion and is very loud and clear about what she wants. She is strong and at the same time vulnerable. So, the colours for the collection are solid, vibrant and strong. The look is Indo-Western and the fabric soft and flowy. Denim has been used in the collection too, to depict the strong and tough side of a woman. The denim fabric used for the

collection has been bleached and given a softener wash to add to the tough look. The collection has both formal and semi-formal wear.
