The visually impaired can now flip through the pages of White Print, India’s first English lifestyle monthly magazine in Braille The first issue that is expected to printed in the first week of May, will feature an interview of Actor Prabal Punjabi, a short story by author Ramya Sethuraman, a political opinion piece, a music story on IDL (a blind band), a section on humour and a four-page fashion feature on the spring-summer collection by a leading menswear clothing line. A source of both education and entertainment, the magazine is an initiative by Upasana Makati, founder and publisher of White Print. The 64-pager will be printed by the National Association for the Blind (NAB) and circulated across the country. All stories are converted to Braille by a software at NAB.

To provide a platform to the community, White Print will also dedicate a section for the readers who want to contribute content about any topic that interests them. Speaking about this unique initiative Makati said, “The lifestyle of the visually impaired is not very different from ours. For most people who are visually impaired, radio is their first choice of acquiring information. I wanted to give them another option through this magazine.”
