Spotlight on staff transfer in ‘Dark Zones’

Education Department will issue guidelines regarding the same in 10 districts once examinations are done with

Government teachers may be transferred as soon as the examinations get over. The education department is all set to make guidelines for transfers in 10 districts that come under the Dark Zone. Teachers and other employees will be transferred under these guidelines.  

While the state government has withdrawn ban on the transfers,the Education Department has not started the transfer process due to ongoing examinations.The process will begin after the second week of April on the completion of examinations of all classes. The department is preparing guidelines for the transfer of teachers in all 33 districts across the state including 10 districts of the Dark Zone.

Notably, the state government had set up transfer ban on teachers and staff posted in 10 districts of the Dark Zone 17 years ago.These include Banswara, Baran, Barmer, Bikaner,Dungarpur,Jaisalmer,Jalore, Jhalawar, Pratapgarh and Sirohi districts. Teachers have been posted in these districts since 20-25 years. The state government has decided to transfer the districts of the Dark Zone for the first time.The government is preparing guidelines for these transfers. “The transfers in the education department will start immediately after all the exams end. Criteria for the transfer of teachers of the Dark Zone will be decided. For transfer to the dark zone, we have to set the borderline for criteria of transfers in these areas,” Minister of state for Education Vasudev Devnani told DNA.

“The criteria will depend on the years of posting in these areas, whether it should be 25 years of service or 20 years or 15 years ,it will be decided. We are preparing the guideline for the transfers.Teachers will be transferred under the guidelines,” he told. We have completed the DPC of this financial year for all teachers and employees.DPC will be started from April in the next financial year, Devnani further added.

The ban
