General secretary of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) RS Nandhu was conspicuous by his absence during the IPL match in Jaipur on Wednesday.  The office bearer of the RCA stayed home to protest against the manner in which passes were distributed.

“RCA president CP Joshi has turned the cricket association into political arena. RCA’s office bearers were denied their due share because of political interests,” Nandhu told DNA in a telephonic conversation.

IPL pass distribution often leaves many people in the administrative and political circles disappointed. However, seldom are RCA officials seen complaining on the issue. As a local host, RCA gets a 15 per cent share in passes.

Even as IPL returns this season to Rajasthan after a gap of four years, the state cricket association has not been able to settle its internal strife. Those opposing Joshi for the ‘autocratic’ distribution of passes alleged that he gave away 5 of the 15 per cent to office bearers of the BJP, while the remaining 10 per cent was distributed among Congress leaders.
