The Rajasthan government on Wednesday decided to incorporate awareness about crimes against women in the school curriculum of classes 10 and 12. The greater impetus given on this social issue is due in part of rising cases of rape and other atrocities against women in the state.
"In view of the rise in incidents of atrocities and rape in the entire country and to increase awareness towards crimes happening against women, it (education about rise in such incidents) will be included in the course curriculum of classes tenth and twelfth of government schools," announced Ashok Gehlot.
This came after a day of Gehlot saying that the government would enact strict laws to control incidents of mob lynching and honour killing.
