Rajasthan chief electoral officer Ashwini Bhagat told that the department has introduced three types name-searching modules in the draft voter list uploaded on its website, ceorajasthan.nic.in.
The state election authorities have uploaded draft of electoral rolls online on its website, making it convenient for voters to search their names in seconds. If a voter has no access to the internet, he or she can also send a message to the department to know his status.
Rajasthan chief electoral officer Ashwini Bhagat told that the department has introduced three types name-searching modules in the draft voter list uploaded on its website, ceorajasthan.nic.in. By entering the name, voter id or locality, the search can be launched on the link ‘search name in electoral roll’ designed on the right side of its home page. The voter will be able to know about the polling station as well with this search.
“The number of polling stations has been raised to 51796 this time, with which division number and polling stations got changed too. By using three searching ways, the voter can easily determine his or her registration. The best result of the search will be displayed by entering only three letters in the search option,” said Bhagat who claimed that the search link has been tabbed 5 crores times so far.
The voter can also send as sms VOTERJ and his voter ID giving space to 9680999899 to know his status of registration. If an eligible voter name is not figured in the rolls then he or she can add the name in special camps being held by the department on August 12 and 19 across the state. The camps will run from 9am to 6pm in which the voter can apply to BLO (booth level office) for adding and correcting information in rolls.
