Hanuman Beniwal, state president of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) on Wednesday filed his nomination from the Khinvsar assembly seat in Nagaur. Beniwal addressed a public rally before filing his papers, where he launched an attack on both BJP and Congress. He said that both parties had not lived up to the expectations of the people and a third front could fulfill that.

Addressing a rally before filing his nomination Beniwal said, “Both Congress and BJP have not fulfilled the aspirations of the people. They rule alternately for five years at the cost of the people.” He said that his party would struggle for the cause of the poor, dalits, farmers and women.

Beniwal, an independent MLA from Khimsar had contested on a BJP ticket in 2008, but had been denied a ticket in 2013 after differences with chief minister Vasundhara Raje. He had contested as an independent and won.

Beniwal had been promoting the concept of third front in Rajasthan and organised a series of ‘Hunkar’ rallies across the state. the last in the series of rallies was organised in Jaipur on October 29 when he announced his party Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP).

The crowds that his rallies have drawn have been cause of concern to both the main parties of Rajasthan. But being a vocal critic of leaders of both parties namely; both Vasundhara Raje and Ashok Gehlot, he leaves little scope for alliance with them.

Stalwart Brahmin leader Ghanshyam Tiwari who left BJP to form his own party had shared stage with Beniwal when he had announced his party.
