Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2018: Max polling in Hawa Mahal

The assembly segments inside the Walled City, including Hawa Mahal and Kishanpol, clocked a high percentage of voter turnout in the polls

Grabbing the headlines as the turf war intensifies between the ruling party candidates and their opponents. With state witnessing nearly 72% voters turnout on Friday, the constituency wise breakup seems to have predicted that whose garlands would come in use on December 11. Civil Lines, which was facing a tough battle between the Congress candidate Pratap Singh Khachariyawas and BJP biggy Arun Chaturvedi, recorded 68.75% voters turnout.

Adarsh Nagar, the den of former BJP state president Ashok Parnami and party’s trump card, recorded 71.65% voters turnout. Parnami is facing Congress candidate Rafiq Khan from the area. 

67.48% turnout was recorded in Malviya Nagar area where BJP’s Kalicharan Saraf is facing Congress candidate Archana Sharma. Then comes Sanganer, which saw a lot of controversies in the past few days with BJP candidate Ashok Lahoti receiving public outrage, recorded 68.88% turnout. Facing Lahoti is Congress’s Pushpendra Bhardwaj and BVP’s Ghanshyam Tiwari. The trio has to be part of a tough battle for the throne from here. Vidhyadhar Nagar witnessed 69.83% with BJP’s Narpat Singh Rajvi from BJP and Sitaram Agarwal from Congress and Independent candidate Vikram Singh Shekhawat. Hawa Mahal constituency witnessed 73.24% which had Mahesh Joshi from Congress and Surendra Pareek from BJP.
