The announcement of the new state president of Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has now been postponed for two or three days. There is yet no agreement between Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and the BJP’s top leadership. The top leadership wants to make Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat state president, while Raje is not ready to accept Shekhawat. At present, this entire episode has been postponed till Monday.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has been in Delhi for the past five days and had sought time to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but has not met him. The meeting can take place on Sunday. If sources are to be believed, the announcement of the State President and the convener of  State Election Committee would now be made together. Raje has met with party’s national president Amit Shah, national vice president Om Prakash Mathur, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and has conveyed her opinion regarding the state president.

After which the central leadership gave Mathur and Rajnath Singh the responsibility of resolving the dispute of Rajasthan BJP President. According to sources, the central leadership is not ready to consider anyone other than Shekhawat.

It is a matter of discussion that if Gajendra Singh becomes the state president, then the Convenor of the state election committee will be of Raje’s choice. According to the political equation of the state, any Jat or Brahmin leader will be made the convenor of the state election committee. If the central leadership chooses any other person as the state president, then the convenor of the state election committee will be a Rajput leader. It is possible that Shekhawat may be the convenor of the state election committee.

Delhi BJP office is discussing that the real reason for the dispute is not the post of State President, but CM candidature. Chief Minister Raje wants to contest the Assembly elections projecting herself as the future CM. While the central leadership wants three leaders to lead in the state assembly elections.
