Jhunjhunu readies to welcome PM Modi

Preparations for PM Narendra Modi’s proposed visit on March 8 are going on in full swing with officials making a beeline to Jhunjhunu.

On Sunday, Union Secretary of the Central Women and Child Development Ministry Rakesh Srivastava reached Jhunjhunu and discussed the preparations with District Collector Dinesh Kumar Yadav.

Srivastava said, “It is for the first time that the District Collectors and Zila Pramukhs of 10 districts across the country working for ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign will be honoured by the Prime Minister.”

Meanwhile, five helipads have been prepared created. In addition to the Prime Minister’s helicopter, two helicopters of his security team will also land on the airstrip. Also, two temporary helipads are prepared near the air base which will be used for the helicopters of Mayor and CM.  Priyanka Chopra, brand ambassador of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign, and Ratan Tata could also be the part of the event although there is no official information. It is being said that Ratan Tata is adopting Anganwadi centres in the state and that is why he will attend the program. Tata has also given Rs. 20 crore for development of Anganwadi centres in Rajasthan.

District Collector Dinesh Kumar Yadav addressed review meetings of the district council on Saturday about the work allotted to various departments. Yadav has instructed all the district officers to prioritise the work which is given to the respective departments and complete it on time. He also gave responsibilities to the heads of the department to make the event a success. He directed the authorities concerned to keep adequate arrangements of basic facilities including power, water and medical help. 

A child of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir will also be honoured by the PM during the program. 

According to the information, a photo contest was organised in ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign in which this child had sent a photograph of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao flag at 4,000 feet high. The picture has been selected for the award and the child is invited to Jhunjhunu.

Also a bike rally will commence on March 5. BJP Zila Media Pramukh Purushottam Khajpuria said “The rally led by District President Rajiv Singh Shekhawat will begin from Pilani on March 5 at 10 am and will conclude at Shaheed Smarak in Jhunjhunu.
