In Budget, CM Vasundhara Raje plays reel life Akshay

In its fifth and last budget of current term, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje gave special focus to women and children. To attract the female voters in the election year, a new scheme providing accidental insurance of up to Rs1 lakh to the members of Bhamashah Card holder NFSA families has been announced. The scheme named as Bhamashah Suraksha Kawach will cover 4.5 crore beneficiaries in the state. Another big announcement for women has been made in the form of Menstrual Hygiene Scheme.

With the provision of Rs 76 crore, the scheme aims to ensure sensitization of stakeholders by providing sanitary pads to women under age group of 15 to 45 years through government intervention.

CM also announced substantial increase in honorarium of female workers under WCD. Now Anganwari and Mini Aanganwari Workers  will get honorarium of

Rs 6000 and Rs 4,500 respectively. For assistant, sathin and ASHAs, the honorarium has been raised to Rs 3,500, Rs 3,300 and Rs 2,500 respectively. In addition, the government will now bear entire amount of premium on insurance schemes of these more than 1.84 lakh Aanganwari Workers.

The much demanded child care leave for female employees has been fulfilled. Now women who are employed in formal sector will get maximum two year childcare leave.

The budget includes many more women-centric announcements like recruitment of 1000 Nursing Training Teachers to accommodate under child development projects, extension cover of Mukhyamantri Hamari Betiyan Scheme to meritorious one orphan girl in each district, provision of 50% subsidy at the cost of 1,000 bulk Milk Coolers to registered women Milk co-operatives; introduction of fresh milk, thrice a week for all students covered under Mid Day Meal Scheme with provision of Rs 250 crore and multi purpose hostel at Dungarpur, Pratapgarh and Banswara for girls preparing for competitive exams with a provision of Rs 12 crore.
