People with weak financial status, who are suffering from incurable diseases, are being treated easily.
A project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government for patients suffering from diseases for long periods of time is proving to be a blessing for them. Under the Prime Minister Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra Project, the medicines of complex diseases are being made available at very low prices, which are around 60 to 70% lesser than market rates of other medicines.
People with weak financial status, who are suffering from incurable diseases, are being treated easily. Speaking about the initiative of PM Modi, a patient Ram Avtar Sikhwal and his family members said that due to the low cost of medicines, now the treatment is not heavy on the pockets of the common man.
Adding to it, the manager of the centre Ratan Lal and doctor of government hospital, Didwana, Dr Ajit Singh Shekhawat said in order to implement the project, around 3,700 public dispensaries have been opened near the hospital premises throughout the country. A total of 400 such centres have been started in Rajasthan.
The representatives of the project say when the pain of those who took medicines for long durations reached PM Modi, he decided to roll out this project and help the people by providing medicines to them at minimal cost. Along with medicines, other resources including the glucometer to test diabetes are also being made available at these centres at a reduced price.
Member of a social organisation, Praveen Prabhakar said at present about 700 types of medicines are being provided to the patients through these drug centres being operated under the project. The number is expected to increase in the coming days.
The representatives associated with social organisations are demanding to increase the number of drug centers in order to render the scheme beneficial for maximum people.
