The incident occurred in Malpura Gate that falls under the Sanganer police station area of the city.
A verbal spat over a petty issue between two close friends resulted in a major clash late on Monday night. One of the friends was talking to someone over phone and the other friend wanted to listen in. This irked the youth on the phone resulting in the clash.
Soon, the supporters of two youths came out and a free-for-all ensued with sticks and bats. The locals informed the cops who rushed to the spot and stopped the fight arresting more than a dozen miscreants who hit the streets over the petty fight.
The incident occurred in Malpura Gate that falls under the Sanganer police station area of the city. “Two friends, Aman and Ganesh alias Vijay, were standing at Malpura Gate when Vijay dialled a number and started talking to the other person on his phone,” said Lakhan Singh, station house officer, Sanganer police station, adding, “The youth was seated when Aman approached him and sat next to him. He leaned towards Vijay to listen in on the call.”
However, this did not go down well with Vijay who immediately asked Aman to go away. “He ended up pushing Aman and Aman took it in a playful manner. Vijay told him to go away and not loiter around him and Aman expressed his desire to hear Vijay talking to what is being reported as female friend.
After Vijay’s reaction, Aman felt hurt and entered into a brawl however both could not win over the other and called in reinforcements,” officials said.
Soon after, several youths, favouring the two friends, reached the spot resulting in a brawl. “The youths, now numbering over a dozen, hit each other brutally and the locals came out. They tried to stop the fight, however, could not and then informed the cops who nabbed fifteen of them,” a cop said.
