A day after Supreme Court delcared that Hadiya has the constiutuional right to make his own choices, a similair case with a twist was witnessed in Jodhpur. Puja Joshi, Brahmin girl, eloped with a Muslim boy named Moshin. The couple went to Bikaner and sought the help of the local police to get married as both are major. However, when the local police sought information from Jodhpur they came to know that a report about Puja’s disappearance has already been filed at  Mahamandir police station.

So when the couple was brought back to Jodhpur, leaders of the BJP, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and other right-wing Hindu organisations reached the Mahamandir police station. Calling it another case of ‘love jihad’ they created a rukus outside the police station and tried to beat Mohsion who was saved by the police.

After recording statements of Puja and Moshin under Section 161 of Cr.P.C. before the magistrate, the police sent them to their respective homes. According to police, Puja in her statement has mentioned one condition that if Mohsin converts to Hinduism she will marry him.
