Sikar district and the Shekhawati region of the state is on the boil since the past several days over the incident wherein a few armed criminals brazenly shot dead an inspector and a constable of Sikar Police.

The crime scene is heating up here due to gang wars between criminals of various gangs trying to gain control over the illegal liquor trade thriving in the area. The situation is also tense due to general lack of strict enforcement of policing to break the back of these criminals once and for all.

Criminals have been trying to gain control over the area and the undercurrent of gang wars and tussles have been felt even by the public much before their outright gun fight took place in broad public view.

There was a time when gangster Anand Pal Singh ruled over these petty criminals. However, with his death in an encounter, now the fight for supremacy between gangsters is ongoing in the Shekhawati region.

Though at present the majority of these criminals are petty gangsters trying to salvage what they could after the end of Anand Pal’s empire. However, with the killing of two cops in Fatehpur on Saturday, highly placed intelligence officers claim that the tables have turned in favour of gangster Ajay Choudhary. Notably, it was Ajay and his aides who opened fire not only at the cops on Saturday night, but on the same night they tried to commit another murder by forcefully entering in their target’s home in Fatehpur but they failed and fired shots outside the house instead.

With the killing of the SHO and constable, sources reveal that now petty gangsters would align themselves with Choudhary because of the risk he took.

At an age of 25 years, Ajay Choudhary has achieved an infamous streak of being too volatile. His love for arms and ammunition is not hidden from anyone living in Fatehpur town and whoever knows a thing or two about the crime world operating in the region. Interestingly, Ajay has only been active in the crime scene for a little over a year during which he has successfully raised a gang and conducted three major loots.

Choudhary’s grandfather, a native of Sujangarh in Churu district, worked in Assam and after a few years, the family shifted to Noida from where Choudhary did his Polytechnic studies. The family shifted to Fatehpur where Ajay’s father started a hardware business. Ajay committed his first crime on Diwali last year when he looted a jeweller in Fatehpur. It was said to be  a major incident of loot. He was arrested for it. He then committed two more loots and has even manhandled several men. Sources say Ajay had dreams of becoming a major gangster and he had even challenged a history sheeter at Fathepur,  Manoj Swami, in full public view. Interestingly, sources reveal that he had even made plans to loot men who deal in illegal money during elections.

While Ajay is still out of police’s grip, sources say he would not be on the run for long. However it is suspected that gangsters like Lawrence Vishnoi, Subhash Baral or even Anand Pal’s brother Vicky might contact him now.
