YSR aide meets senior congress leader in Delhi

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, KVP Ramachandra Rao meeting came a day after the Congress said that it may take a little longer for the high command to decide on the leadership issue in Andhra Pradesh.

Here to drum up support for making YS Jaganmohan Reddy the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, KVP Ramachandra Rao today met senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily and apprised him of the political situation in the state arising out of YS Rajasekhara Reddy's death.
   
Rao, who arrived here this afternoon from Hyderababd, met Moliy, also the in-charge of state affairs, at his residence and briefed him about the situation in the state.

"I briefed him about the political situation in the state that is prevailing for the past five days. I told him my understanding about the prevailing political situation in Andhra Pradesh. He gave me a patient hearing," he told waiting reporters.

Rao held hectic discussions with the supporters of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy in Hyderabad yesterday and today about the meetings he had with Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and senior Congress leaders Pranab Mukherjee and Veerappa Moily among others.

He also met with the state ministers and is understood to have briefed him about the response he got from the high command regarding the demands of their campaign for installing Jaganmohan as the next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Rao's meeting with Moily came a day after the Congress said that it may take a little longer for the high command to decide on the leadership issue in Andhra Pradesh.

Mukherjee had said it won't be a problem for the party to choose a new leader and that it will take some time to arrive at a decision. Rao, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, is expected to meet Mukherjee tomorrow and apprise him of the political situation in the state.
