A day after Omar Abdullah said all forces deployed in the state have to exercise utmost restraint while dealing with civilians, central reserve police force (CRPF) troops allegedly shot dead a youth who was part of a mob which had violated curfew in Kral-Teng, Sopore, on Sunday evening.

Bilal Ahmad Wani, who was shot in the neck, was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. This is the third casualty in Sopore since June 25.

On Friday two youth were killed when CRPF troopers opened fire on the protestors who were demanding the bodies of two militants killed in an encounter at Krankshivan Sopore.

An eyewitness said CRPF opened fire without provocation, but the CRPF said they fired in self-defence.
