Youth dies after falling off train

A 22-year-old youth died after allegedly falling off an express train at Maitapur between Korei and Jajpur Road stations under East Coast Railway today, Railway police sources said.

The youth, identified as Sanatan Mallick of Balasore, had boarded the New Delhi-Puri Neelachal Express at Balasore and was on his way to Bhubaneswar when the mishap occurred.

Mallick was found lying along the railway track by nearby villagers around 11am with serious injuries. He was taken to Jajpur Road Area Hospital at Jajpur where he succumbed to the injuries this afternoon, hospital sources said.

It was being verified whether the mishap was a freak incident or the youth was thrown out of the train, police sources said.
