Youth Cong members burn effigy of Bal Thackeray in Ahmedabad

Members of the Youth Congress burnt an effigy of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray near the Gujarat University bus stand on Tuesday evening.

They were protesting against a statement made by Thackeray against cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Thackeray had “advised” the cricketer to concentrate on his game. The comment has incensed the Indian cricket board and politicians across the country.

Thackeray, who offered the advice on Monday, even asked the champion cricketer to stay away from the question of who had the first right over Mumbai. Moreover, the Sena patriarch hinted that cricketers only played for themselves.
