A special set of instructions has been issued by the officials at the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.
As students are all set to take giant steps towards building their careers by appearing for the standard X exams, a special set of instructions has been issued by the officials at the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB): Be very careful and precise when writing the paper set numbers on the sheet given in the examination hall.
The officials say that though it's a small instruction, it will play a major role in the process of paper checking, as there are 15 types of question paper sets that will be given to the students in the examination hall - all having the same questions but the series will be different in all question paper sets.
Stressing on the importance of this, secretary of GSHSEB, MI Joshi says, "The questions are jumbled up. Question series in paper set No. 1 will be different in question paper set No. 8. This means that the question No. 5 in paper set 1 will be question No. 15 in paper set 8. If students by mistake write paper sheet No. 1 even though they are given paper sheet No. 8, in the OMR sheet, the question series in both the sheets will be different. Now the keys fed in the machine for paper checking will also be different, so the right options for paper set number 1 will be different from paper set number 8."
He added, "Then even if the answers are right, the students will lose marks due to wrong numbering, as the machines are fed with the information of the right answers as per the options available on the paper sheets as per the numbers given to them."
