A 28-year-old woman, an alleged member of Indian Mujahideen and accomplice of American Centre attack convict Aftab  Ansari, was arrested in New Delhi along with four US nationals for purportedly selling fake herbal products, police said today.

Nikita, who served over six years in prison and released in 2008, will also be interrogated by intelligence agencies in view of the Pune terror attack. She was arrested yesterday from Jor Bagh market in south Delhi for selling the products through the Internet.

The arrested have been identified as Richard Eugenes, 36, Tommy Ojeaga, 38, Aaron, 34, all hailing from Nigeria, and Lucien, 35 from Ivory Coast, deputy commissioner of police (south) HGS Dhaliwal said.

Three fake Silphium Terebinthinateum (ST) herbal seeds, few fake business cards of various leading drug companies, three laptops, several international SIM cards and four passports have been recovered from the group.

The drug which they sold as ST was found to be a soup material namely 'Okbono' used by Africans for mixing up in vegetables to make it greasy and is also available in Delhi for Rs100 per packet.

The arrests came following a complaint by an Ahmedabad-based businessman Hemchandra Barot yesterday that he was cheated by some people of Rs4.5 lakh after being lured into the business of selling herbal products.

Nikita was arrested by the Delhi police in 2001 and was released in 2008 after spending about six-and-a-half years in jail. She was arrested under the explosive substance act and for indulging in terrorist activities.

"She came in contact with these African nationals and started living with them after release from jail as they happened to meet her in the court. For the past 18 months, she was putting up with them and indulged in all sorts of cheating by using fictitious names Mrs Khanna, Mrs Nisha etc.

"She has been the student of Loreto Convent Entally, Kolkata and is fluent in English. She has also worked with few lawyers in Patiala House Court," Dhaliwal said.

On the events leading to arrests, Dhaliwal said, "the complainant told us that he received a floating in which the sender introduced himself as an international agent of a leading UK-based pharma company and offered him trading of herbal product.

"The sender offered him 40% commission to supply these products to various South Asian companies dealing in life science drugs and also forwarded him addresses and phone numbers of such buyers in India," he said.

Ansari and his associates were involved in the attack on the American Centre on January 22, 2002 that left five policemen dead and 12 injured. Kolkata high court had earlier this month upheld the death sentence of Ansari.
