A 42-year-old woman was found murdered in her residence today with police suspecting the hand of her domestic help who is missing.

The incident was reported from Rohini in Outer Delhi and the deceased has been identified as Pramila Shukla. Her body was found with throat slit at around 12:15 pm by her son Girwar.

The domestic help Karan was hired by the victim a fortnight ago, a senior police official said adding cash and gold jewellery were missing from the house.

"Girwar woke up at around 11.30am and called his mother who did not respond. Initially he thought that she could have gone out and would return after sometime. But when she did not turn up, he started searching for Karan who was also missing from the house," the official said.

Her son then found his mother lying in a pool of blood in the drawing room. Her husband is a contractor and provides manpower to Bokaro Steel Plant in Jharkhand. He was in Bokaro when the incident took place.

Investigators said prima facie, it appeared that the murder was committed by the domestic help who has disappeared with robbed booty.

Police have contacted the placement agency from where the servant was hired.

The exact value of the missing items could not be ascertained because the victim's son was not able to provide him the list of missing items. A case of murder has been registered.
