Woman burnt to death in NOIDA

In a suspected dowry death case, a 22-year-old woman was allegedly burnt to death at Ghodi Bachheda village, police said today.

The victim -- Lalita was married last year and her in-laws allegedly physically as well as mentally tortured her for not fulfilling their dowry demand.

The last demand of the in-laws was Rs5 lakh and a bike, the father of the victim had alleged.

He has lodged a dowry death case in this regard.

Her in-laws claimed she caught fire accidentally. However, a case of dowry was registered.

"We have registered a dowry death case against her husband and others today," said a senior police officer.
