Watchman hounded off plot at gun point by 15 people

To get possession of a piece of land worth crores near Prahladnagar Garden, more than 15 people armed with sticks attacked the watchman of the land and forced him to leave the place. Al the furniture from his house was put in a truck.

Bipin Sonara, 47, a watchman of a plot near Prahladnagar Garden, alleged that 15 persons, including a woman who identified herself as Takhiben Thakor, visited him in his small room built inside the plot on Wednesday morning and asked him to vacate the place along with the family. The woman behaved as if the plot belonged to her, alleged Sonara.

When Sonara protested and tried to call the plot's owner Shailesh Vyas, a man named Munna, who was among the 15,  pulled out a weapon from his pocket and threatened Sonara with it. Munna and another accused Raju, at gun point, asked Sonara's family to keep quiet.

"After holding me and my family forcefully in the room, the accused called a tempo and an Eicher truck. They then began loading our household furniture into the two vehicles. Once the loading was done, they asked us to sit in the truck and leave the plot," alleged Sonara. He lodged a complaint with the Anandnagar police, who reached to the spot after Sonara called 100.

Sonara and his family then went to a relatives' place at Sagar Society in Anandnagar. He also informed the plot owner about the incident. By the time the police and Sonara reached the plot, the accused had already left the place. However, Sonara claimed that the accused took away Vyas's Maruti car that was parked outside the plot for many years.

Anandnagar police have begun the search for the accused, including Munna, Raju and Takhiben.
