Vadodara-based Indian Air Force (IAF) station has grown from strength-to-strength be it in terms of upgradation of infrastructure or operational efficiency and welfare of personnels, officer commanding Aircommodore AS Bahal said.

"Established on October 8, 1984, the station has grown from strength-to-strength. It is celebrating the completion of 25 years of glorious service to the nation," Bahal told PTI.

The focus on activities this year include profession enhancement, welfare, sports and adventure activities, which include inter-unit sports meet, mini Marathon, cycle and
motorcycle expedition and organised community lunch with personnels including civilians and their families.

Besides, the unit is also planning to organise awareness lectures on preventing and controlling swine flu and malaria in the IAF station, he said.

"The aim is not only to bond the Air Force station together and highlight the crucuial role played by the Air Warriors but also to bring the IAF to our own civilian society, Bahal said.

In addition, a number of welfare activities and a spectacular display by sky-divers, led by wing commander Arun Marwah, was also organised last evening.
