Unknown men throw acid on teenager in New Delhi

A teenaged girl who was working as an activity teacher at a play school was today attacked by two unidentified motorcycle-borne persons who threw acid on her and fled from the spot.

Daljeet Kaur, 13, resident of Priyadarshini Vihar in Model Town, was attacked by two masked men while she was going to a nearby market, police said.

They said she suffered 45% burn injuries on her face and shoulders and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Daljeet's father is a businessman.

A police official said initial investigations have suggested that it could be a case of personal enmity.

"But we are probing the case from all possible angles," he said.

A case has been registered in this regard but no arrests have been made so far.
