Congress leader Rashid Alvi has complained to Delhi Police regarding crank calls received by him from an unidentified person making filthy remarks against Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

Sources said Alvi had written to Delhi Police Commissioner BK Gupta complaining that the caller makes "filthy" remarks after calling him at midnight.

Gupta told the Congress leader that a police officer has been asked to inquire into the complaint, the sources said.

Sources said the unidentified caller had been calling Alvi for quite a few days levelling all sorts of allegations against the son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The caller had also been boasting that even ministers pick up his phones, the sources said.

Soon after the first such call was made, Alvi had contacted the police helpline 100 number, after which the matter was reported to high-ups in the department.

There was no comment from the Delhi police on the issue despite repeated attempts.
