With its lush green gardens on the banks of Sabarmati to one of the most ambitious projects, the Revolving Tower, Vasna ward has it all. It is probably the only ward after Maninagar to be able to boast of having benefited with almost each and every facility be it the library, gymnasium and swimming pool to BRTS. Roads here are wide and hygiene and sanitation conditions too are maintained well.
However, this is just one side of the coin. Flip it and you have the darker side facing you with many areas in the ward still lacking even basic amenities. Ronaknagar, Guptanagar and other areas were incorporated within the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in 2005, however, the areas are yet to be blessed with basic facilities.
One can see garbage dumps heaped in the area and roads are in absolute bad shape. In the monsoon, rain water enters people's houses and water logging is a huge menace in the ward. Resident also complain of low pressure of municipal water - an issue that has remain unresolved for a long time now. This is true not only in the underdeveloped areas, but also in the Vasna village. Though the corporation had changed the waterline, it is yet to find a solution of the problem.
Like all other wards falling under the Ellisbridge assembly area, the whole panel of BJP had come out as winners in the last civic elections in this ward, which makes the opposition Congress' task an uphill one in the upcoming civic body election.
