Two CPI(M) workers killed, two policemen abducted by Maoists

Two CPI(M) workers were killed allegedly by Maoists, who also abducted two policemen from West Midnapore district today, police said.

Bodies of two CPI(M) workers Jyotidranath Mahato and Manik Midha, who along with four others were abducted by Maoists late last night from Balodhoba village, were found dead today at Lauria village near Manikpara, they said.

The whereabouts of the other two persons abducted by the Maoists from Balodhaba village was not known, they added.

Meanwhile, two policemen were abducted by Maoists from Tehgoria under Salboni police station at around 10 amtoday, the police said, adding that a massive search operation was launched to rescue the policemen.
