The resignations of TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao and party MP Vijayashanti from Lok Sabha are unlikely to be accepted as they are not in order.

"These resignations are not in format. So there was no action," Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar said when asked about the status of the resignation of Rao who quit the membership in the wake of the Telengana issue.

Rao and cinestar-turned-politician Vijayashanti had faxed their resignations to the speaker on December 23 after the government decided to put the issue of the separate state on the backburner saying there was need for wide-ranging discussions on the matter.

Asked about the resignation of Congress MP L Rajagopal on the same issue, Kumar said the member from Vijayawada had withdrawn his resignation. To a question on reallocation of seat for BJP leader LK Advani since he stepped down as Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha in favour of Sushma Swaraj, the Speaker said seating arrangements for Advani have been made.
