Travel agent couple booked for duping two brothers

Phagwara police today lodged a complaint against a travel agent couple for allegedly duping two brothers of Rs20 lakh on the pretext of sending them to Canada.

Phagwara police today lodged a complaint against a travel agent couple for allegedly duping two brothers of Rs20 lakh on the pretext of sending them to Canada.
   
Simarjeet Singh and Pardeep Singh of nearby village Pandwa had lodged a complaint with Phagwara SP Kamaljeet Singh Dhillon, alleging that Jagmohan Sharma and his wife had struck a deal with them for Rs30 lakh on the promise of settling them permanently in Canada within a month.
   
They had given Rs20 lakh in October last year to the couple and promised to pay the remaining amount after getting the visas, police said.
   
They had also given their passports to the couple.
   
When the couple didn't send them abroad within the stipulated time, the brothers went to them.   

Though their passports were returned, the couple did not ve back the amount.
   
A case under sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal reach of trust) was registered against the couple.
