Three persons were arrested in connection with a recent case of kidnapping and murder of an Ayurvedic doctor's son in the capital, police said today.

The arrested persons are Viplav Biswas, the victim's cousin, Manish Verma alias Sonu and Deepak, they said.

The body of 19-year-old Raju Roy bearing multiple stab wound had been recovered by police on Thursday from inside his car which was abandoned in bordering Karnal district of Haryana.

Roy, son of an Ayurvedic doctor Shrimal Roy, had been traceless along with his Santro car from Rohini since Monday. His family had received a ransom call from his kidnappers for Rs 20 lakh, police said.

"Manish Verma alias Sonu, Deepak and Viplav Biswas, who is a cousin of the deceased, have been arrested for kidnapping and murdering of Roy," a senior police officer said.

"During interrogation, Biswas disclosed that he conspired Roy's kidnapping along with three others (including the two arrested in the case) to extract a hefty amount because he was envious of the way of life of the victim and wanted live by
the same standard," he added.

The accused revealed that after calling Roy at a location on pretext of organising a party on Monday, they along with their other associates kidnapped him and took him to Gannor in Haryana.

Their another associate Hardeep, who is yet to be arrested in connection with the case, made ransom call of Rs 20 lakh to Roy's father, he said.

"Biswas disclosed that after Roy's father lodged a case in the local police station, he made a call to Hardeep and asked him eliminate Roy and get off from there sensing police action," the officer said.

"The arrested accused disclosed that Deepak and Hardeep then murdered Roy. They revelaed that the duo dipped Roy's head in a pit full of water and stabbed him several times till he died," he said.

Police said efforts are on to arrest two others accused in the case including Hardeep.
