Third Navy Day celebration to be held in Kochi

Kochi: Prominent eight teams will be seen in action in the Third Navy Day Invitation Football Championship for Dronacharya trophy, scheduled to be held here from November 21 to 29.

Professional football club Viva Kerala, Central Excise, KSEB, Malabar United, Josco Football club, Golden Threads, Gymkhana Thrissur andCalicut's Chandni Football Club, will be participating in the championship, which will be played on a knock-out basis, Captain Saji, INS Dronacharya, told mediapersons here.

Malabar United is the defending champion, he said. The Rs1.20 lakh prize money championship will be played in flood-lights at Parade Ground of Fort Kochi, he said.
