If the police and the weather department are to be believed, terror attack through the coast is not possible before the month of September. Considering the present tidal situation in the Arabian Sea, it seems impossible for anyone to travel and enter the country. “Even a big and advanced ship cannot survive the high tides of the sea during the monsoon and it becomes impossible to travel,” a source in the Gujarat police said.

After the terror attack on Mumbai last year, the Police and security agencies have been flooded with intelligence inputs from everywhere. The police have been provided intelligence inputs by BSF, Coast Guard, Customs Department, Central IB, State IB, RAW, Indian Navy. Post 26/11, the agencies have strengthened their intelligence sources and are continuously fed with the intelligences inputs.

As a result, the intelligence input had become specific and the role of different agencies on the coastal areas can be defined properly. The state government has so far received specific intelligence input at three different phases. First, it was during the elections, next during the Rathyatra and the third input was provided by the IB and RAW about the attacks on vital installations along the sea coast.

Reacting to the intelligence inputs, the director general of police, Gujarat Police, SS Khandwawala told DNA that the citizens of Gujarat should not get anxious to such news. “People should stay calm and just be aware of things happening around. The police force of the state is well equipped to counter any terrorists attack.”
